Sand Racers
Sand Racers is a 3-D racing combat game that is highly influenced by Mario Kart. The game allows you to choose among different buggies, all of them with various features or weapons.
There are five different worlds: East Desert, West Desert, Lost Land, Dark Sands and Death Valley. Obstacles include thorny cacti and rocks, which should be avoided at all costs. Game modes include Race, which allows you to race against three computer opponents; Battle, where the idea is to destroy your enemy's buggies; and Collect, where you try to collect more balls than your opponents.
While the game most definitely has fun factor, technically speaking, it is no masterpiece and is a bit no-frills. But it was created by just one programmer, and keep in mind that it is absolutely free! It works on all versions of Windows.
