Warsow
PC gamers love a good 3D shoot-em-up. Since the times of Doom, these have been among the most popular games, easy as they are to play with a keyboard and mouse.
Fortunately, there are plenty of these games available free on the Web, and one of these is Warsow. It's a multi-player, 3D shooter game based on the Qfusion 3D engine (a modified version of the Quake 2 GPL engine). In fact, the graphics are fantastic considering this is a free game. The game is based around the idea of movement, and there are different areas to explore as well as plenty of weapons to choose from. Take on the computer or your friends in multi-player mode.
On the Warsow site, you can take part in the Warsow Movement School, which includes lessons (in AVI film format) that teach you how to play the game. This includes explaining useful strategies and which weapons are most powerful.
