This site is perfect for the world traveler or for that person who merely loves languages. Forvo bills itself as a pronunciation guide. Wondering how to pronounce "cavallo" in Italian or "vasteras" in Swedish? Just type in the word and if it is already in the database, you can hear a native speaker pronounce it. If it's not in the database, wait for a native speaker to respond to your query with the correct pronunciation.
Obviously Forvo's success is based on the participation of its users. If you see a word in the waiting list that you know how to pronounce in your language (and have a microphone) go ahead and pronounce it to help out the next guy.
Searching the site's database requires no registration but if you'd like to request a word or add a word, you'll need to sign up for free. Quite a practical service, don't you think?
