Do you spend an inordinate amount of time on Wikipedia? You aren't alone. Despite some
of the controversy about the accuracy of the information on Wikipedia, it is still one
of the most popular sites on the Web.
Wikia has a very specific objective. It allows you to create free Wikis dedicated to a
single topic. So if you are a big Playstation 3 fan, you can create your relevant
Wiki. Choose a topic (video games, cartoons, films, TV shows, cell phones, computers,
etc.) and get started. To use Wikia, you don't need to know HTML. Just give your Wiki
a title, choose your preferred template and write whatever you like in the handy
content editor.
Obviously the Wikis created can be modified by other users. You can make yours public
(so that anybody can modify it) or private (so that only those with the user name and
password can modify it). As with Wikipedia, each change to the page will be listed in
chronological order.
