Microsoft Worldwide Telescope
Microsoft WorldWide Telescope just came out in February 2008. It's an incredibly
interesting project that allows the user to see and explore galaxies, solar systems
and planets. You can do things, such as see the same images that NASA scientists use
to perform their research and view the Earth from the same perspective as the
astronauts.
This incredibly rich program has 3 Terabytes of images and multimedia content, all
viewable for free with a simple graphical interface, which is very similar to the Windows Media Player.
Microsoft WorldWide Telescope is available for Windows XP and Windows Vista, and to use it you'll need to have Net Framework installed (more information on this by clicking the download link below). You'll need at least a 1 GHZ processor, 2 GB of RAM, a video card with at least 256 MB of memory and at least 1 GB of space (10 GB is recommended) on your hard drive. It takes a while to download, but the wait is worth it!
