XnView
You may have found that your computer is being overrun with images of every type. Today there are so many formats out there, though, that you may not have the right program for opening them all.
XnView is an image viewer that aims to solve this problem. The program recognizes more than 400 formats and allows you to open images, viewing them singly or in sequence. You can also make small tweaks to your images (resizing, getting rid of red eye, etc.) if you'd like. The graphical interface is clean and easy to understand.
XnView is absolutely free and is available for all versions of Windows from Windows 95 to Windows Vista.
